US Senator requests return of Ethiopia to AGOA
A U.S senator has requested the senate to return Ethiopia to AGOA as it has been progressing in many aspects.
U.S. Senator from Virginia Mark Warner said the U.S. should strengthen and improve the trade relationship between Africa specifically Ethiopia.
The Ethiopian government has been pending progress in many aspects, especially the ceasefire. The trade relation between Africa specifically with Ethiopia is important. “We do that carefully there are very large Diaspora Ethiopians in Virginia and others. My hope is we can improve the relationship and return to the AGOA,” he added.
Senator Warner requested the senate that the return of Ethiopia to AGOA as the country is pending various improvements in several aspects “We should improve the relation with Ethiopia.”
Many are appreciating his plea for the return of Ethiopia to AGOA as convincing. The sanction is affecting small businesses and millions of low-paid workers mostly women.
One of the members of the Senate also said that the termination of AGOA will impact the lives of many Ethiopians, according to the Ethiopian Herald.
