Nigeria: Investors urged to take advantage of AGOA, TIFA
The Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Humphrey Abah has urged Nigerian businessmen to take advantage of trade and investment opportunities available in the Unites State of America's African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA) as well the Trade and Investment Framework Agreement (TIFA) and exports goods to the US market.
The Minister said this at a sensitization workshop in Kano over the weekend on opportunities and challenges available in doing business in the USA.
He said the workshop is one of the ways through which members of the organised private sector could be sensitised on how to enter into partnership in exploring business and investment opportunities under the AGOA and TIFA schemes provided by the US.
Abah said the Ministry is doing everything possible to enable Nigerian exporters benefit from the over 6000 products particularly in the non-oil exports made available under the AGOA trade incentives scheme.
he said if Nigerian businessmen utilize the opportunities being offered by TIFA and AGOA effectively, more jobs and wealth will be created thereby empowering the Nigerian populace.
